The 10 price ranges. Each artwork is classified according to i) its quality; ii) its place in the artist’s career and art development; as well as iii) the supply and demand for it, actual and anticipated.

 

The maximum amount per category is updated annually to account for an investment return (based on inflation and market returns of different asset classes). Another factor is applied to account for the evolution of the artist’s reputation.

 

Once initially categorized, a work can change category in time mainly due to demand and transactions between buyers and sellers.
